Canadian Legacy Media receives mega bucks from Trudeau's Canadian government. From the $650M newspaper bailout to 75% of wages paid via CEWS to magazine funds to CBC grants to removing $30M Broadcast fees to stuff I missed.
Legacy Media paid little attention to the Governor General (Julie Payette) before July 2020. Few mentioned her engineering frankness and attention to details. In fact, media not paid by Trudeau like Rebel led any criticism of her.
Then came July 2020.
Macleans and CBC regurgitated Payette is acting like an engineer criticisms (note: Both have extra special ties to Trudeau Government beyond funding.)
What followed was an unprecedented and co-ordinated attack by almost all paid legacy media. There. are. way. too. many. to. cite.
Trudeau's Privy Council started an investigation immediately following first CBC article - reported two days later. Payette welcomed the investigation.
Even some in right leaning media were baffled at the unprecedented media smears. Attacks continue from CBC to this day.
What did she do wrong? Even reviews of her tenure meant to explain her removal seem banal. The final report redacted and boring.
Why did Trudeau's Legacy Media want the Governor General gone? Did they magically get Jelly that she could do math and they could not?
Clearly, Canadians are owed an explanation. If personal, she should still be there. If not personal, why target a Governor General?
Given Trudeau's attempt for absolute power to spend and tax to Dec. 2021 without approval of parliament, did the Governor General inhibit this desire? Need something like Governmer General Special Warrants for "emergency? We know what happened when the Attourney General stood up to Trudeau. Did Trudeau and his media encourage the big trash?
Frankly, we don't know what happened but Trudeau dependent Legacy Media's removal of GG suspicious. With rumours of an election, Queen Elizabeth herself should select the new governer general and disregard Trudeau's selection.
